Wade Fishing the Texas Coast
Wade Fishing the Texas Coast
Memories of my first experiences wade fishing ran through my mind as we left our first fishing spot of the morning. I wanted my girls, Lilly (8) and Maddie (6), to have the first time excitement of hooking a fish while wading the flats of the Texas coastline. I wanted them to experience wonder of what may be around them, sensations of seagrass on their legs, feeling the tug of a speckled trout or the strong hit of a redfish on their line and the excitement and nervousness of landing a fish in the net. Thinking about it all and seeing them try it for the first time made me so excited and proud.
I was introduced to wade fishing in my 20's by my husband when we were dating. Fishing, hunting and outdoors are part of what makes us who we are and we are thrilled to share these passions with our young daughters. As a mom I want to instill in them a love for nature and the outdoors, an appreciation for God's creation, and a sense of adventure. So, we spend time on the water, sit around campfires and take family hunting trips as often as we can. Parenting is a gift, fishing the Texas coast is a gift, both for which I am so thankful.
